3/4" Thermostatic Shower Valve With Trim - 1 Output
The 196.4102 Thermostatic valve features 3/4" NPT connections and has 1 water output. There are 2 settings or positions on the top handle of this product. They are as follows:Position 1 - Output 1 Active Position 2 - OFF - No Water FlowThe bottom handle sets the temperature.Supply Stops - There are two safety stops at each water inlet to prevent water flow in case of installation and repairs.Handle Operation - The bottom handle is used to control the temperature of water flowing through the outlet. The volume of water is control by top most handle. The top handle is capable of controlling the volume of water from a trickle to full flow.As the valve is installed, care should be taken to maintain proper distance from the back of the valve to the finished tile which should be between 2.77” and 3.44” inches [Rough In Spec]. Also the value must be installed straight and not at an angle or upside down. In case, the tile is thicker or valve is installed in the wall is too deep, extension kits are available and can be used for elongating both handles of the valve.Cut Out Dimensions - The cut out in wall should be 6.49 X 4.44 Inches and no more – this will ensure that the trim plate will cover the cut out hole in the wall.Trims - The trims comprise of a well finished cover plate and handle knobs. The trim plate is used to cover the wall and has markings for ON/OFF and HOT/COLD. Over the temperature control knob, is an anti-scald temperature stop ring which is a safety feature in this thermostatic value. With the help of this ring, temperature of the water is regulated. Covering this ring is the handle knob which has a push button on the side. In order to adjust the water temperature, one needs to press this button and move the handle to hot or cold direction. Without pressing it, the user will not be able to rotate the handle to the full HOT position – as an anti-scald prevention mechanism. The anti-scald temperature stop ring should be fitted tightly over the valve (tapping using a rubber mallet might be required) for it to function properly.Depending upon the shower model, trims can be of different shape and size, varying from square to circular shower handles. Shower Trim & Handle - Use With PBV1005AS
TO BE USED WITH PBV1005AS PRESSURE BALANCE VALVEHandle Operation - The volume and temperature of water is controlled by the single handle. Lift the handle to control the volume and as the handle is moved between left and right, the temperature changes. Move it right for cold and left for hot water.Cut Out Dimensions - The cut out in wall should be 4.60” x 4.76” Inches which is properly covered by the trim plate. This will ensure that the trim plate will cover the cut out hole in the wall.Trims - The trim set for PBV1005AS consists of a trim plate and handle knob. The trim plate has markings for HOT/COLD. An extension kit can be ordered separately in case the handles need to be extended for proper fit. Any trim ending in *2200 or *2201 can be used with this valve. Depending upon the shower model, trims can be of different shape and size, varying from square to circular shower handles. Shower Trim With Pressure Balance Valve
The PBV1005AS – Pressure Balance shower valve has a ½” NPT male connection. It is single control valve with two inputs for hot/cold water and one output. The bottom output does not come capped and can be used with a diverting tub-spout.
